We salute our Alumni Ms. Ogechi Ada Ebbis
Ogechi-Ada Ebbis is a December 2010 graduate of Alabama A&M University with a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. She received a Bachelor's degree from Georgia State University in 2008. Ada is currently employed as a Medical Speech Pathologist at Cartersville Hospital and Calhoun Health Care. She graduated from Alabama A&M with honors, boosting a 3.82 grade point average, and was an inductee of the Alabama A&M Graduate Honor Society.
Using the leadership skills obtained in the Nigerian Youth Alliance, Ada participated in many collegiate organizations, including the National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentorship Program, Circle K International Community Service Organization, and executive board member of the Graduate Students Association.
Ada is a former NYA vice president and president. She completed her term as Nigerian Youth Alliance president during her first year in graduate school and remains heavily involved in NYA as an NYA Board member, an advisor and mentor. She is a member of Umu Igbo Unite-Atlanta Chapter and a founding member of the Nigerian Professionals Association (an extension of NYA). Ada considers herself a lifelong member of NYA and credits the organization with helping to discover her leadership potential, as well as instilling in her the importance of education, hard work, and community.
Ada was recognized by the Association of Nigerian Organizations of Georgia as the Youth of Excellence for 2012.
